Bahrain: Transition to the 12th Edition of the Nice Classification
Please be advised that the Intellectual Property Office operating under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain has officially announced, effective April 9, 2025, its transition from the 11th edition to the 12th edition of the Nice Classification of Goods and Services, as communicated to all trademark agents on April 29, 2025. Consequently, all trademark applications submitted on or after April 9, 2025, must adhere to the updated classification categories and terminology as outlined in the new 12th edition of the Nice Classification.
Syria: increase in the official fees
The Trademark Office in Syria, pursuant to Ministerial Decision 1448/2025, has officially announced a significant increase in the official fees associated with trademarks and designs, effective immediately. The newly established fee structure is applicable retroactively to all pending trademark and design applications for which fees have not yet been settled, in addition to all new filings.
