With reference to our circular letter dated 2/28/2022 whereby we had apprised you of the publication fees increase possibility for trademarks, we would kindly advise you that on March 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Ministerial Decision No. 28 of 2022 disclosing the new official publication fees for trademark applications which were implemented upon its issuance. However, upon the request of IP agents, the registry had granted a 60 days grace period within which agents of service could pay the publication fees for the pending trademark applications based on the old fees; but the newly appointed Minister of Industry and Trade has demanded the Official Gazette Directorate within the Ministry as well as the IP agents to rectify this situation to settle the official publication fees according to the new fees as there was no legal ground to the 60 days granted period. Currently, all IP agents who were paying based on the old fees within the grace period should pay the difference with immediate effect.
